Adding AWS Support and New Terraform Module
We’ve recently shipped a new version (0.3.x) of our terraform module. This update brings huge improvments in the workflow for setting up clusters. The biggest addition is also support for Amazon AWS.
Let’s take a deeper dive into what’s new in this release.
Automated Cluster Setup
In the previous terraform module there was still a requirement for users to login to the node to setup LXD manually. However in this new version we’re happy to announce that there is no need to login to manually setup the instance.
Once you run terraform apply the cluster is automatically setup without any manual intervention. This brings our cluster setup workflow to the ideals of infrastructure as code.
We’ve also done a quick video demo to show you how the new terraform module works.
Platform Update 3.2.3
We’ve also recently shipped a new version of our platform bringing some improvements such as
- Logging in with your username
- Bug fixes to the Add Cluster screen
- Some minor bug fixes
Roadmap
We’re continuing our efforts to automate as much as possible. We’ve received feedback from our customer that onboarding needs to be easy and straight forward. We’re working towards automating more of the cluster setup and we hope to share some of that with you soon. On top of that we’re also working towards adding support for the following providers:
- Google Cloud
- Microsoft Azure
